24 Hours

Blizzard Mountain Pinball's 24 Hours

Join us for Blizzard’s one of a kind 24-hour tournament! It’s been six years since we last ran this pinball marathon, so now is your chance to give it a try or to run it again!

The tournament is limited to 50 people. Sign up starts at noon on Sunday, October 6th, 2024. You can sign up at THIS LINK

Tournament entry fee: $100, which includes the cost to play the games. (Your card will be good from the time you arrive on Saturday through the end of the day on Sunday.) The Eventbrite link above does NOT charge you for the entry fee, so you will need to pay us the $100 either in person, or via Venmo/Zelle once you have secured a ticket. We will send you an email once you’ve registered for a ticket with payment options, so be sure to use a valid (correct) email address when signing up!

Breakdown of tournament fee: $60 to the prize pool (including completion medals awarded to everyone who successfully completes the 24-hour tournament), $40 for the cost of playing the games ($20 unlimited cards for each day).

Format:

We will be using a varied format this year to keep everyone having a great time through the whole event! The formats will include:

  • Rounds of Flipper Frenzy
  • Group Matchplay (4-player groups, 7-5-3-1 scoring) Play as many rounds as possible during the allotted time block, with the final round starting 15+ minutes before the end of the time limit.
  • Pingolf (We will split into 4-player groups. The total number of groups will be composed of 3 sections (Red Blue, Yellow) which will be staggered for meal times so as to not overload the party room). No new holes to start 10 minutes before the end of the time limit. (Everyone will play the same number of holes, so breaks around the final Pingolf round may be longer or shorter to equalize this.)

We will run the 24-hour tournament through Matchplay.events, as a series of events. There will be a Flipper Frenzy event, a Pingolf event, and a Group Matchplay event, which will each be worth 100 points. Players will be ranked by their performance across the rounds of each format type. The results of each format type will be added together to produce a total score used in the final rankings. (For example, if a player gets 1st place in Flipper Frenzy, 10th place in Group Matchplay, and 15th place in Pingolf, the scoring would be 100+90+85 for a total of 275 points.)

7:30am: Tiebreaks for getting into A/B/(possibly C) divisions will be played as a full game.

For the final round, we will split into A/B/(possibly C) divisions and do an elimination group matchplay round until we have winners in each division! Maximum of 16 players in A (or half, if we have fewer than 32 players overall). If we have 40 or more players, we will have a C Division as well.

8:00am-10:00am: Group Elimination (4-player groups, 2-3 strikes, 0-0-1-1 scoring.1 game per round. The exact number of strikes will be determined based on the number of participants in each division.)

In general, we will have a 30 minute break between rounds to allow time for groups to finish up and for people to grab a quick snack before starting the next round. The exceptions to this are the Pingolf rounds, which will be split into three sections so everyone can get an hour meal break. Therefore, there will not be a 30 minute break after the Pingolf rounds.

Let us know if you have any questions! We’re excited to host this unique event and to see you all at the finish line!
